The Steveston Athletics Women's Fastpitch Club began operations in the fall of 2015, playing out of Steveston Park in Richmond BC. The coaching staff, led by Kevin Lee, Denny Irwin and Craig Schram had just completed three seasons (2013-2015) running the very successful '94 Islanders Junior Women's team and when that team aged out of the junior category, they made the decision to go independent and the Steveston Athletics were born. Our first games kicked off in the spring of 2016 in the Moody Park league. In 2017, Steveston merged with the Sr. B Islanders, Coach Schram left and Kevin McWilliam took over as head coach. In 2018 we moved to the Fraser Delta Women's Fastpitch Association (now the largest women's fastpitch league in BC) and soon won our first Provincial Championship. McWilliam retired after the 2019 season and Kevin Lee resumed head coaching responsibilities. Steveston won their 2nd Provincial championship in 2021.
